Wow, it has
been another busy period for me lately. I was home a week after my Las
Vegas trip (article in this newsletter), then left for the IOHC (Asia
Pacific F3C Open) in Bali as well as getting my new place sorted so I
can live in it (which has been a lot more hassle than it should have been).
American
Trip
My trip to the states was great. I went there for a work convention and
was able to spend an afternoon with the Szabos at their field which was
awesome. On the way home we spent a few days in Los Angeles which was
great! Look forward to getting back there some time soon!
Indonesian
Open Helicopter Championship (IOHC - Asia Pacifc F3C Open)
This is the first in what I HOPE will become an annual competition to
raise the skill level of F3C pilots in the Asia Pacific region. It was
a great success and we all had an excellent time. This article has taken
me an eternity of nights to write cause there was just soo much to write
about, so set aside some time to read it and look at the tonnes of pictures
we took!
Bubye
Tempest, Hello Sylphide
I was offered too good of a deal on a Sylphide so decided to pick one
up which meant that my previous F3C machine, the Tempest, had to go. It's
going to a pilot up near Brisbane who already has a Tempest 3D. It sounds
like it's going to a good home. The Tempest head, I still believe, is
one of the best FAI head's around.
I've done
a fair bit of flying on this Sylphide already and it's all looking very
promising. The Sylphide is a very quiet machine and also very fast. I
look forward to playing with it a bit more and getting it setup to my
liking.
In other
news, the Eagle WC3 (one of only 250 built) which I was going to do a
review on has been sold and is going to a guy in Wisconsin. I got to fly
it about four or five times and only got up to doing autos with it. The
collective response and accuracy of it had to be felt to be believed and
it autoed like you were landing a plane, very impressive.
