Well Easter
has just finished and I hope you all got some good flying in! I did the
test flights of my Vigor after it's refit and also made sure the Voyager
got a sound thrashing too :).
New
Club
My
'home' club is situated on a shooting range that is used both by the Army
and the National Rifle Association. Normally there is shooting on Saturday
and we get the range on Sunday for flying. Lately though shooting activities
have taken place both on Saturdays and Sundays so I have been looking
around at alternate flying sites. I found another club about the same
distance from my home and so applied for membership and have been flying
there off and on lately. This club has got some pretty serious plank fliers
doing IMAC and F3A. Most couldn't remember when or if there had been helicopters
at this field. I must say I was a little bit worried about how the helis
would be accepted here. I need not have worried, just about everybody
stopped to watch when I flew and then came and asked questions afterwards.
When I have been there people like let the flier have the sky to himself
and turns are taken like that which suits me fine.
Although I will continue to prefer to go to the shooting range, this new
club will be great for an alternate site, and excellent for learning to
fly my plank.
Any
requests?
Let
me know what kind of content you'd like to see on littlerotors.com and
I'll do what I can. I would rather drive the content with stuff that you
want, rather than the stuff I dream up. Email me with requests or information
at simon@littlerotors.com.
Event
calendar
Something
I've also been working on lately is an event calendar which will allow
people to enter and publicise upcoming helicopter events. Each time a
newsletter goes out, future events will be publicised on the bottom of
each edition as well as on the site itself. Look out for it!
Pilot
Locator
The Pilot Locator has continued to grow in popularity since the last newsletter
with it still rating second most popular section of littlerotors.com.
Make sure your details are up-to-date! The pilot locator can be found
at www.littlerotors.com/findapilot/
Market
The Buy/Sell Market has been growing also. It should be noted that this
section will accept postings from all over the world, not just New Zealand.
List your items free of charge! See the market at www.littlerotors.com/market/
