4th August 2002
This month has been very
busy for myself and Littlerotors. I started the month with a week off from the
time I finished my previous job at the Ministry of Education, till I took up
a new position at a company called SERCO. I was lucky enough to have picked
the right week to have off for the weather was awesome! I spent four days at
the field from morning till late noon with the field mostly to myself! I ended
up burning about 16 litres through the CS and Voyager practising the F3C schedule
(Vigor) and getting some 3D action going (Voyager). The new job has meant a
near vertical learning curve for me, so that has kept me busy for a while. In
between everything else, I was designing a For Sale Market and a Pilot Register
for Littlerotors.
Pilot
Profile Series
I've begun a series of profiles on some of the top pilots in the 3D, F3C and
hopefully Scale areas of our hobby. The first of these profiles is on Alan Szabo
Jr, one of the up and coming stars of our hobby. Future editions will include
Mark Christy (top UK F3C Pilot) and Jason Krause (international class 3D Pilot).
If you have any suggestions on pilots you would like to see included, as well
as any questions you'd like put to them, please email me.
Pilot
Register
One of the new features I have been working on has been adding a Pilot Register
to Littlerotors. This enables people to search by Country and Region for pilots
in their area. It's been up and running for about two weeks now and has proved
to be very successful ranking second in popularity on the site statistics. We
have pilots listed from all over the world, from Australia and the UK to the
USA and ofcourse, New Zealand. Register today and make yourself counted! The
Pilot Register can be found at www.littlerotors.com/findapilot/
while you're at it, check out the new Market section and list some of your old
equipment for sale!.
Curtis
Youngblood is coming to New Zealand!
This is another reminder that Curtis is coming to New Zealand at the end of
November on his way to Australia. We have organised an event in Rotorua on 22nd
through to the 24th of November. For those of you thinking of attending, you
have until 1st October to register to qualify for the 10% discount and enter
into the $500 prize draw. Registrations received after 1st October will not
qualify for the discount or prize draw.
The programme promises to be action packed and full of fun. To keep up to date
with developments, and to download the registration form, visit www.littlerotors.com/curtis2002/.
JR
Voyager list
For those of you who own, or are thinking of owning a JR Voyager, there is a
JR Voyager email list. To subscribe, send an email to jrvoyager-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
UK
3D Masters
The UK 3D Masters were held a couple of weeks ago. By all accounts it was an
awesome event! Curtis won the Masters Class followed closely by Jason Krause
and Clive Cheney. For more information on the event, check out www.3dmasters.org.uk.

Pilot
Profile - Alan Szabo Jr
If
there was anyone who could truely be called the next Curtis, Alan is it. Steaming
up the ranks in FAI, and right up there in 3D. Alan and his brother Danny, are
forces to be reckoned with! Click

163km/h

police man turned up at one of our funfly's with his radar gear and clocked
our helis. The results were interesting! Click
